Book: Battle Hymn of a Bewildered Mother by Shunali Khullar Shroff

In her debut novel, Shroff steps away from the clichéd question of ‘how to be the perfect mother’ and instead comes clean about her journey from being a full-time journalist to a full-time mom. An ex-journalist at The Asian Age, the one thing she realized was that maternal instincts didn’t come to her as naturally as they do to most women. “This book will not make you feel inadequate,” says this mother-of-two who was previously constantly intimidated by mothers who always seemed to have their life together. Her advice to the mothers of the world: “Don’t try and be anybody else. Be true to yourself”.
